Area closure in effect for Wilson Fire (Wilson Fire Wildfire)

ARCADIA, Calif.; Oct. 19, 2017 – For Immediate Release – Angeles National Forest officials are implementing an area closure for the Wilson Fire effective Friday, Oct. 20 until the Wilson Fire is declared out. This order is in place to provide for safety and natural resource protection. Jeffrey Vail, Angeles Forest Supervisor says, “This closure is necessary for firefighter and public safety which is always our highest priority on all wildfires. We appreciate your cooperation and patience while we work to fully contain the Wilson Fire.” The Wilson Fire is 45 percent contained and approximately 50 acres. There are 365 personnel on the incident. Firefighters are working to reinforce firelines in steep, rocky terrain. The forecast shows Santa Ana winds may occur late Thursday.
